Episode 46 Baja Ha-ha Leg 3

Wake me up when it’s over

And so the party er….race….er rally had come to a close. What a blast! Lennie and I had been waiting for years to do the Ha-ha and now just like Captain Ron behind the bus it was gone. We spent a few days roaming around Cabo trying to figure out what to do. Maintenance? Okay change a few fluids… whatever….go drinking? Okay we hit a bar or two. We got our beers and stood around looking at people with big smiles on waiting for a knowing glance…..but nothing. We walked the marina and even went back to squid row but our friends, the army of Ha-ha people had vanished out of Cabo as fast as we all had arrived. Some headed to Puerto Vallarta where it is warm. Some headed to La Paz for some time in chillax-ville and still others turned their boats around and started the Baja bash back up the coast to California. We never thought we would feel so alone after the Ha-ha but there we were. It took a few days to settle in and then we hopped a jet for Florida. 24 hours later I was sitting at my desk talking to staff and customers and trying to be “normal” but I couldn’t. I was a Ha-ha veteran and nothing would be the same again. I sighed….stared at my computer and felt something on my chest. I pulled back my Polo shirt and their it was….my $5 abalone Mexican medallion necklace. The Ha-ha was with me still.

Please enjoy leg three of this awesome event and if you can ever swing it go for it. When you meet Gary on this episode I want you to know he is 80 years old and bought his boat just for the Ha-ha which he had always wanted to do but never found the time. His bucket list is shorter than others but he made it happen.

This one is for Gary.

Loved the HaHa videos – and all your previous ones! We’ve been following you for a couple of years. We enjoy the fabulous videos not just because of the great sailing shots but also because we’ve had an L44 for almost 2 years and I always pick up a few tidbits I can apply to our boat. Thanks!

I didn’t see it on your blog or anywhere else in the videos but heard the awards ceremony announcer say you’re getting a new L50! Congratulations, it looks like a fabulous boat! I hope you won’t have to wait too long – I think Bob Ross said they’re already sold out through the rest of this year.

I feel like we know you and Lenny after “sharing” your adventures all this time. I hope we cross paths some time soon!

Hi Chuck, Yes they let that slip in the video so the word is out now. We are producing some videos on the purchase story and experience so plenty more to come on that. So glad you like the videos and glad you find them useful. Love your boat! We are always at the Annapolis show and Miami so lets meet! Randy
